Also I wanted to say I totally agree with you on the wedding location being key and want to add in that includes the seasons too. I’ve once had a wedding invite in the winter to this far off hotel. It wasn’t a key place to go since the wedding was taking place on the day a blizzard blew in.

Contemporary romance series are popular in m/m. Sometimes authors will follow the same main characters, and sometimes they will spin off minor characters in the first book into their own story in the sequel(s).

Examples of contemporary romance series: Marie Sexton’s Coda series (Book 1 – Promises), and Amy Lane’s Promises series (Book 1 – Keeping Promise Rock). There are many other examples, but these are the first that come to my mind.
