Beat Your Winter Blues Blog Tour: Intro

How do you beat the winter blues? I’m doing it by hanging out with fifteen other fantastic authors between now and April. Head on over to Coffee and Porn in the Morning for the inaugural post, which includes a little about each participating author and how we beat the winter blues. Also go to that post for your chance to win a $200 gift certificate to the e-retailer of your choice. There will be other prizes throughout the tour, too. Who doesn’t like prizes?

Considering how mild this winter has been in New York, it’s hard to get too upset about the weather. I’m currently knitting a hat in between bouts of writing, and that’s part of how I beat the winter blues.

According to the latest, Hurricane Irene is set to hit New York City Saturday night, and the governor has declared a state of emergency, and the MTA is shutting down mass transit tomorrow. It’s a little strange to think about now, given that it’s sunny outside at the moment (calm before the storm?). But, as a result, it looks like I’m going to be stranded in my apartment all weekend (luckily I’m not in an evacuation zone—I live in a neighborhood with “heights” in the name, which is not just there to be silly). Let’s hope I don’t lose power so that I can use my exile for good!

I’m going to be hanging around The Romance Studio’s End of Summer Bash all weekend with book excerpts and I’ll be giving away a book from the backlist. Lots of other great authors are participating, so be sure to stop by!

And to those of you on the East Coast, I hope you stay safe and dry! I’m gonna make one last run to the store to make sure I’ve got enough food for the weekend.

Blind Items will be available this Friday! I’m going to be traveling all day Friday—my brother is getting married this weekend. So I’m celebrating the book’s release a little early.

All day tomorrow (7/28), I’ll be having a book party at the Dreamspinner Press Blog. There will be excerpts and a little contest to win a copy of the book. So stop by anytime tomorrow, leave me comments, and polish off your trivia skills because you’ll need them for the contest.

In Hot PursuitIn honor of the print release of In Hot Pursuit we’re gonna have a little contest.

IHP is about a man who goes on vacation after a rough couple of years. While on said vacation, sure, he does get involved in a kidnapping plot, but he also meets the man of his dreams. (You can read more about the book here.)

So what’s your dream vacation like? Personally, I’ve always wanted to go to Italy, Florence especially, and I imagine I’d spend lots of time looking at art and pretending to be Dante.

Here’s the dilly: I am giving away one ebook and one autographed paperback.

In the comments of this post, write a sentence or two about what your ideal vacation would be like, assuming money’s no object. Then specify if you would prefer to win an ebook or a shiny new autographed paperback.
